Role of Music in your Life!

I rarely go a day without music. Any day without music feels empty. I find all types of music to be both inspirational and motivational; well, maybe not all music, in particular the music I cannot decipher what the lyrics are or are supposed to be.

I truly believe that music is an integral part of every day, having the ability to completely turn your day around and transform both the quality and quantity of what you can accomplish in a day! As we experience life in moments of happiness or sadness, music is there to inspire or comfort all of us.

What songs do you sing in the shower or blare in your car? For me, I love music that asks me to take a moment and not just listen but also experience it. I love the songs that I have a physical reaction to, a song that affects me in a way that forces me to pause what I am doing and listen, sometimes even bellow out the lyrics!

My all-time favorite song is “Over the rainbow,” performed by a somewhat undiscovered artist, Eva Cassidy. I find this song to be so uplifting, emotional and spiritual.

Aside from that song, I really like anything! Some of my other favorites include U2, Bruce Springsteen, and Bon Jovi. My kids will also tell you that I frequently embarrass them by singing along to the latest pop and rap music!  I try to stay in the loop with the latest music while holding on to my 80s roots!

What have you listened to today? What song gives you goose bumps every time you hear it?

In my travels, I have had the opportunity to meet a few music artists, here is a photo taken during a photo shoot of Lil Wayne and Kobe Brant that I was at in June.
